MSNBC Facebook at Work Article.
I’m not sure if it an addiction or just a really sticky site but Facebook has enough interactivity that it is definately altering peoples behavior and taking up a lot of their time. In this article by MSNBC they discuss the ramifications of workers spending too much time on non work related sites. It seems that Facebook is a time sink that we have yet to come to grips with in the workplace.
5-7 Hours Per Day on Facebook Interview.
On the other hand in the college domain I did an interview with an articulate college student Chris Hughes and he says he spends between 1-2 hours per day on Facebook during the college semesters. When school is out he expects that number to increase to 5-7 hours per day. Great for Facebook. Great for Chris. But do the advertisers get a piece of Chris attention? And can they make money from him? What they probably need to understand is that Chris too is looking to make a few bucks online. So if you have products or services he can make money from especially while he is on Facebook all the better.
